These are the precursors to most of the pulp fantasy stories we read and enjoy - and many of them hold up rather well.Melanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07165894144553629675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8653301951574738973.post-63108614566373998512017-05-08T16:32:57.903-07:002017-05-08T16:32:57.903-07:00I need to look into those other books.I need to look into those other books.John Matthew Staterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02310914386482078369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8653301951574738973.post-31414209162425446912017-05-06T14:03:17.660-07:002017-05-06T14:03:17.660-07:00Good post about an excellent novel!
Simplicissimu...Good post about an excellent novel!

Simplicissimus (along with the sequels, especially The Tale of Courage, The Notorious Thief, Whore and Vagabond) may be my favourite book of all time, and it made an impression on me all right. It dares to be a funny book about a great tragedy, and it is full of life, wisdom and wit. Great stuff and really one of the major adventure novels.<brMelanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07165894144553629675noreply@blogger.com
